LAURA SHOW OPEN
TV Audience Hello and Welcome
Hello Everyone and welcome to the First Congressional District Debate. I'm Laura Knoy, host of NHPR's "The Exchange". We're coming to you from the Franklin Pierce University Manchester Campus and the Fitzwater Center where for the next hour, we'll hear the candidates debate some of the most contentious issues of our time.
And now, let me introduce our candidates who are back for a rematch from two years ago. They are Democratic Incumbent Carol Shea-Porter, and former Congressman Jeb Bradley.
Our panelists are Richard Ager from New Hampshire Public Television, Alison King from NECN and James Pindell from PolitckerNH.com.
During the first half of our debate, the panelists will ask questions. During the second half I'll take over and moderate what we're calling a "Lincoln-Douglas" style exchange.
Some of these questions came from our readers, listeners, and viewers. We tossed a coin earlier to see who would receive the first question, and that goes to Carol Shea-Porter.
LAURA GOOD BYE
And that's all the time we have - I want thank you, our audience here at Franklin Pierce Manchester and to you at home for watching and listening. And especially, Thank you to our candidates, Representative Carol Shea-Porter and Jeb Bradley. Thank you.
